The ashes of the red heifer were not designed to remove moral sin, it was only a ceremonial cleansing called in Hebrew 9:13 - "that which sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh." How often have we felt far away from the presence of God. It wasn't sin that separated us, it was the negative influence upon the mind, emotion and the conscience.

In the worship of the Old Testament, great principles of truth and spiritual realities were conveyed through outward signs and symbols. The red heifer alone was not for present need. It was offered to meet future needs.

He needed to heal the wound in our relationship with him that caused our death. He accomplished all that in Jesus. With His strips we are healed.
