Is the kingdom of heaven just a good feeling we get sometimes? Jesus teaches us that the kingdom is like a king who took account of his servants and forgave him. That servant went out and didn't forgive and he was turned over to the tormentors. Does this sound like the kingdom of heaven?

Is the Kingdom of Heaven and Heaven the same thing? It's hard for us in the west to understand how they would have heard Jesus when he said "Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand."

Paul counted it all dung. Paul wasn't throwing all his culture and teaching out the window. Paul was learning how all the scriptures and all the sacrifices and everything in the temple was pointing the Christ story.

Paul learned the culture of the gentiles so that he could use their own culture and language to teach Christ to them. In order for us to understand the scriptures we need to understand the culture of the ancient world. Paul even quoted their own poets to them. The scriptures were written "for" us but not "to" us.
